Kherington Payne cast as female lead in ‘Born To Dance’

“The character of Tu will be played by fresh faced Tia Maipi. This role will be Tia’s first major acting role although he has danced around the world as part of Hip Hop International’s gold medal winning crew The Royal Family”

 

New Zealand press has reported today that Kherington’s been cast in a lead role in an upcoming NZ-produced dance film, titled ‘BORN TO DANCE’. The film will be directed by Tammy Davis (director ofEbony Society and Sonny My Older Brother), choreographed by Parris Goebel (from the amazingReQuest and Royal Family dance crew), and will star Tia Taharoa Maipi, Kherington Payne, and Stan Walker.

 Kherington is currently in New Zealand, and is due to begin filming shortly. There’s a local news report of a visit to a local high school by the film’s director and lead cast members (click on the cap below to see the video).
